GREAT RIVER HOUSING TRUST FUND
WHAT WE DO
The Great River Housing Trust Fund promotes affordable housing in Southeast Iowa through rehabilitation of owner-occupied home, down payment assistance, and development partnerships with private developers. For applicant to be eligible to receive funding they must be considered low to moderate income households and meet strict income standards.
Since the inception of the Great River Housing Trust Fund in 2011, they have:
- Awarded $4,936,996 in assistance from Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) to improve housing in SE Iowa
- Leveraged an additional $1,346,500 in rehab assistance for the region
- Currently funded development assistance to build a spec home for a low to moderate income household in Burlington
- Currently working with Habitat of Humanity of Henry County to build a house in Mount Pleasant
- Funded a developer funds to create a three bedroom upper story unit on Main Street in Keokuk
The Great River Housing Trust Fund is funded through commitments from local governments, commitments from local banks, donations, and state funding. The money provided from the local governments, banks, and donations is used to leverage the additional money from the State.
